Hydrology and Remote Sensing

Dr. Worqlul’s research focuses on understanding the integrated impact of watershed management practices from farm to watershed scale. His research encompasses hydrological assessment of land use, climate and management practice effect on streamflow, soil loss, crop growth, and application of remote sensing data in data scarce regions. Currently, Dr. Worqlul is working on the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Small-Scale Irrigation (ILSSI) project, which is conducted in Ethiopia, Tanzania and Ghana. In this project, Dr. Worqlul uses the Integrated Decision Support Systems (IDSS) to identify irrigation potential area and gaps and constraints of small-scale irrigation for sustainable intensification. He also provides capacity development training on the Integrated Decision Support System (IDSS).
